SURPRISES.....

There is something so wonderful about the school my boys go to and that is the teachers make every single Holiday, Season, and person into such a big deal and so special. For this special Holiday this month, they have been working on projects all week long. I would get hints on their daily report that they did something with footprints outside, or that they worked on a special surprise for Mother's day with colorful stamps. After an awesome day off today with my husband at some of my favorite places out of town, we anxiously go pick up our boys early from school and I find Mother's Day surprises in both of their cubbies. In their homemade footprint and colorful stamp wrapping paper were the silly but very cute wooden picture face frames, marigolds, and cards which say things that truly touch my heart and are keepers forever. I also enjoyed Muffins for Moms during the week which was a delicious treat that Jonathan and Adam got to share with me. I love how the teachers talk about the meaning of every single Holiday throughout the year. Jonathan and Adam learn so much and have so much fun doing all their activities with their friends. We have no doubt that we picked the right daycare/school for them and every penny towards it is worth it.

And today, I'd like to share about "Mary's Playgroup" that I am so thankful to have in my life. Jonathan and I joined a Mommy's and Babies group in Hershey when he was just 3 months old. Being off work for 9 months, it wasn't until the third month after having my first baby, I knew that I needed to go out and make friends with other mom's going through the same thing I was....needing that extra first time mommy support and later learned that they have become the best support group and closest friends I could ever imagine. Jonathan has grown up with a group of about 12 friends in his early months of life and it gets better....all the mom's had their second babies all about the same time so now Adam has a group of fun friends who are all siblings of Jonathan's friends. We would meet in this facility every Thursday mornings for 2 hours to chat about everything, do some baby massages (Jonathan would fall asleep during them all), and learn about new things. Tuesday mornings was a breastfeeding group. As the kids became toddlers, they were too old for this group so we formed our own at each other's homes for playtime. Even with working full time now, I can't get together with them weekly, but email has kept us together. We have done babysitting swaps, birthday parties, and annual family picnics where the dad's can join in too. We have some pretty successful and amazing dads who include a news reporter, a writer, a doctor, a business owner, a Director, and the list goes on. Thank you moms for staying in touch, I love you all and can't wait for out next family picnic together. Happy Mother's Day .... you are all very amazing, all wonderful, super moms!
